Founded in 1948, the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO) supports and advances the interests of the unionized electrical contracting industry. The ECAO is committed to addressing the needs of its members through labour, government and public relations and providing education and training opportunities. The ECAO represents 550 electrical contractor owners who are signatory to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and represent approximately 17,000 IBEW electrical workers.  Our vision is to differentiate ECAO contractors and their IBEW partners across Ontario as being industry leaders in delivering safe, stable, predictable, high-quality electrical/communications construction and maintenance services. Through its history, ECAO has been recognized as a leader in the construction sector by working closely with government and other construction trade associations.
