The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) voted to issue a proposal that would defer by one year the effective date for the new revenue recognition standard.  For public entities, this pushes the effective date to annual reporting periods beginning after December 15, 2017. The date will be December 15, 2018, for nonpublic entities.  Early adoption will be permitted.

ELECTRI Council member Moss Adams LLP has provided ELECTRI readers with an Alert for more details on the potential deferral.

The proposal will be available for comment until May 29, 2015.  Here is the link to submit your feedback.  https://www.fafsurveys.org/se.ashx?s=4CA36E9240E62F8C
