All NECA-member contractors are invited to apply to the NECA Safety Excellence Award Program by March 1.  Not only will award winners earn recognition within their NECA District; they’ll also be featured on the NECAnet website and in NECA This Week. And their winning status will be a powerful marketing tool for attracting customers who care about worksite safety!

The application process is simple. Click here to enter the NECA Safety Excellence Award Program online. Or, you can download a PDF of the survey form by clicking on the link to “Related Documents” at the end of this article.

The information you enter on the application form will be based on the prior year of operation (2009) and will be treated as confidential. You are asked to specify your firm’s total manhours worked in 2009 because there are four award categories;

  • 0 to 50,000 manhours
  • 50,001 to 100,000 manhours
  • 100,001 to 150,000 manhours
  • over 150,001 manhours

The additional information requested  will come from your OSHA 300A Form, which you’ll need to complete whether you enter the award competition ot not since the OSHA form must be posted in your workplace(s) from February through the end of April.

NECA Safety Excellence Award winners are selected based on a comparison of safety data for their companies with pertinent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for their industry. All award recipients are well below the industry averages for lost-work incidents and total recordable incident rates.
